recently , "Red Envelope" fever has swept China. a lot of people join in the Red Envelope War to get money, which we call "Snatch Red Envelope".
at the end of each lunar year, Chinese children would receive some red envelopes that have some money. this is a custom in China. parents express hope and encouragement to their kids by giving them red envelopes.
but now the aged old practice has greatly changed with the development of high-tech. many people snatch red envelopes on weibo, wechat and Alibaba.
some people think electronic red envelopes are more convenient and have more fun. and some internet companies attract more new mobile payment users by giving out more than 7 billion yuan cash-filled red envelopes and coupon-filled red envelopes for example, the app called weChat has another two million users by this activity.
others don't think so, they believe this kind of activity breaks the real meaning of traditional culture. snatching electric red envelopes is only a way of getting fun instead of giving others best wishes.
as for me, i prefer traditional red envelopes because i can sense love from my parents and my elders. and i think that people are too crazy about red envelope war to ignore the traditional Chinese custom's real meaning. i can't imagine that my family members, my friends and my classmates just snatch electronic red envelopes rather than enjoy a meaningful Chinese year.
